Roberto is a speaker for Google’s Get Your Business Online program and a Google Digital Coach. He has over 15 years of experience helping companies better use digital marketing tools. He has led over 100 Google digital workshops and has trained thousands of entrepreneurs on how to use digital marketing tools. He runs his own digital marketing agency and advises various chambers, incubators, and accelerators on scaling companies using digital marketing tools.

Roberto has also worked with international businesses including Johnson & Johnson, Cisco, Hitachi, and Hyatt.  He is passionate about entrepreneurs and loves helping businesses reach their potential. ROBERTO MARTINEZ

Nació en la Cd. de México en 1962, estudió economía en el Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), entre 1984 y 1996 trabajó en la Secretarías de; Hacienda y Crédito Público, Relaciones Exteriores, Turismo y en la Lotería Nacional, donde desempeño diversos cargos relacionados con temas económicos, financieros y de finanzas públicas.

 

Entre 1998 y 2013 participa como asesor del grupo parlamentario del PRD de la Cámara de Diputados en diversas comisiones como la de investigación del Rescate Bancario en México, de Hacienda y Crédito Público, de Vigilancia de la Auditoria Superior de la Federación y en la Unidad de Evaluación y Control de la misma Cámara de Diputados.

 

En 2009 asume el cargo de Diputado Federal por el Partido del Trabajo al ganar la elección por el distrito 20, en Iztapalapa, participando en las comisiones de Hacienda y Crédito Público,  de Gastos Fiscales, de Competitividad y de Vigilancia de la Auditoria Superior de la Federación y presentó 23 iniciativas en materia fiscal, de Presupuesto, de Transparencia y de Rendición de Cuentas.

 

A la fecha es coautor  de 6 libros; dos de Rescate Bancario, uno de Lavado de Dinero, dos de la Reforma fiscal y uno del Presupuesto de Egresos de la Federación.

 

En el mes de enero del año 2013 fue nombrado Presidente de la Comisión Nacional para la Protección y Defensa de los Usuarios de Servicios Financieros.

Dora Ramirez is Vice President and Community Development Manager for Wells Fargo in the Dallas, Fort Worth, Central and Border Texas Markets. She provides oversight and direction to Wells Fargo leadership on CRA related initiatives in addition to building external relationships with nonprofits entities and local officials.
 
Dora has been in the financial services industry for 18 years.  Prior to joining the Wells Fargo team, Dora worked for Citi's Community Mortgage Lending group where she managed the achievement of CRA, Fair Lending and Mortgage Lending goals for Texas. She has also worked for Lehman Brothers/Neuberger Berman as a Wholesale Sales Assistant and with JPMorgan Chase as a Marketing Officer. 

 

She is a certified NeighborWorks counselor, licensed banker (Series 7 & 66 - expired), and a graduate of the University of Texas - Arlington with a BBA in International Business.   She currently chairs the Hispanic Scholarship Fund Texas Advisory Board, serves on the LiftFund North Texas Advisory Board, the University of Texas at Arlington Hispanic Advisory Council, the Real Estate Council’s Community Fund Board, the Impact Dallas Capital Board, and the Dallas Development Fund Board.  She also joined the Board of Directors of Children’s Health in 2018.  She is a 2014 alum of the Leadership Dallas program a past member of the Mayor’s Star Council, and a member of the Hispanic 100

 

Dora is a native of the Rio Grande Valley and has resided in Dallas for 20 years.  She lives with her husband, Juan, and three sons, Andres, Isaac, Juan Sebastian, and daughter Natalia Anahi.

DORA RAMIREZ

Marcela Fajardo is the founder and CEO of Cultura Marketing Group.  She is a veteran marketer with more than 20 years of experience in brand development, media, marketing and sponsorships.  She has managed brands globally in the telecommunications, cosmetics, adult beverage and the oil and gas industries, and has designed and implemented successful multi-channel plans from the local to the international level.  

Throughout her career she has leveraged her cultural insights, media relationships, and passion for innovation to continuously deliver impactful marketing strategies that address a brand’s marketing challenges and increase business performance. Marcela has extensive knowledge and experience across all phases of marketing, plus additional expertise in multicultural marketing with an emphasis on the Hispanic culture. 

Most recently Marcela led the multicultural marketing efforts for Bacardi and Grey Goose, creating multi-channel plans that both increased sales as well as their on-premise customer base in Texas and Louisiana.  Her media strategy for the 137th Kentucky Derby helped lift Grey Goose’s onsite and retail sales over 142% vs year prior, establishing new consumer behavior and changing the company’s marketing strategy moving forward.

Throughout her career Marcela has worked with many brands, including:  Verizon Wireless, Laboratorios de Cosmeticos Vogue, Miller Lite, Blue Moon, Peroni, MGD, Bacardi, Grey Goose, Dewar’s, Bombay Sapphire, D’Usse, Cazadores, Penasco, and Gasintecsa.

Marcela holds a Bachelor of Arts from Texas A&M University and a Master’s degree in Marketing from Los Andef University in Bogota, Columbia.  She loves being a mother and can often be found on the sidelines of her son Daniel’s practices and games.  In her spare time Marcela works with the Boys & Girls Club of America and helps under privileged children in her home country of Colombia.

Prior to launching Richards/Lerma, Pete led Click Here, a very successful digital agency that has done innovative work for brands like Amstel Light, Chick-fil-A, Casio, Patrón and Travelocity. Pete is the quintessential digital native. However, being a second-generation Mexican-American, Pete has also kept a pulse on his native culture, and he’s intent on raising the bar in Hispanic marketing as well.

Having spent the last 14 years in one of the best agencies in America, Pete is now taking the approaches he’s learned and applying them to Richards/Lerma. His vision is to create a more relevant connection between brands and their Hispanic consumers. In that capacity, Pete leads a team of seasoned Hispanic marketing experts that makes up Richards/Lerma. PETE LERMA

In 2008 Chuck McCoy founded the North Texas Angel Network, a group that today includes over 50 business leaders investing in promising early stage companies. Chuck has had 25 years’ experience in the software business, initially with Arthur Andersen and subsequently as an independent product developer for large companies such as AT&T, E-Systems and MCI. With an accounting background and extensive sales experience, he has helped multiple businesses grow through M&A as well as new product roll out. He has served as Director of Commercialization Programs at the North Texas RCIC and helped the Texas Emerging Technology Fund become an important funding source for technology start-ups. He holds a BBA from Oklahoma City University, an MS (Economics) from Oklahoma State University, and is a veteran of the US Army (A Battery, 6th Battalion, 33rd Field Artillery, 1968).

Gloria Alcaraz, nació el 8 agosto de 1963 en la ciudad de Honduras emigró a la ciudad de Dallas Texas en el año 1978. Gloria arribó a este país con el sueño de iniciar un negocio pero que al mismo tiempo impulsara los productos de Centro y Suramérica y así conservar herencias y tradiciones, traes este sueño, Gloria abrió las tiendas Guanaco en el año 1991 en la ciudad de Dallas, Texas donde se iniciaron las operaciones y en 1992 en la ciudad de Garland inauguro el centro de distribuciones de alimentos de origen Latinoamericano, desde este plantel de distribución se entregan los productos  Centro y Sur américa a todo la Unión Americana.

 

Detrás del éxito y reputación de las tiendas Guanaco existe una historia llena de adversidades, retos y logros que con el tiempo lograron dar vida a esta gran empresa. El motivo que impulsó a Gloria a sacar adelante a esta empresa fue el verse atrapada tras la falta de fondos financieros, reto superado que le permitió expandirse en diferentes áreas, Gloria, ha elaborado un plan de negocios en el que a futuro le permitirá aumentar la producción de productos y la adquisición de nuevos edificios y crear un centro de distribución en línea y como planes a largo plazo tiene como meta la creación de franquicias. GLORIA ALCARAZ

Mayra Ortega is currently co-owner and CEO at Mayeli Beauty + Cosmetics, a retail store offering high-quality, affordable cosmetics. As a Latina herself, she also noticed a need for beauty products that focus on trends and preferences of Latina women. Thus, Mayra founded Bazan Beauty, Inc., a company that designs, develops, and distributes cosmetics and beauty products to consumers and retailers.

 

Before opening her own business, Mayra was a bilingual school teacher with a passion for helping her students succeed. Working in a high-poverty area, she was deeply moved by the struggles her students faced including hunger, abuse, and homelessness. Her teaching experience motivates her to advocate for equal educational opportunities and funding to help students overcome obstacles and hardships.

 

Originally from Arizona, Mayra moved to Texas where she obtained her degree in psychology from the University of Texas at the Permian Basin. As a first-generation college student, Mayra understands the importance of breaking barriers through hard work, determination, and initiative.

 

In her spare time, Mayra enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her daughter and family. She is also currently involved with the Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Fort Worth Hispanic Women’s Network.

MAYRA ORTEGA

Nancy N. Alvarez was selected to head the 8(a) Business Development Program for the U.S. Small Business Administration, Dallas/Fort Worth District Office on September 11, 2011.  She is instrumental in providing leadership, management and oversight to optimize the deployment of SBA’s Federal Contracting programs and services within a 72 county geographical area covering North Texas. 

 

As the SBA’s Women Ownership Business Representative, she is responsible for increasing participation of women owned small businesses in Federal Contracting Programs and advocates to local Federal agencies on behalf of Women Owned Small Businesses (WOSBs). 

 

Nancy graduated from Jacksonville University with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration (Magna Cum Laude). She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa Honor.  She served on the Board of the City of Jacksonville, Mayor’s Hispanic American Advisory Board and the Mayor’s Small & Emerging Business Advisory Council.  Additionally, she served as an advisory board member in the Beaver Street Enterprise Center, Jacksonville’s first business incubator. 

 

Nancy is currently a advisory board member of the Dallas/Fort Worth Federal Agency Small Business Advocacy Council (FASBAC), a small business professional’s forum where federal agencies share, gather, and create ideas that promote small businesses’ interest and participation in the federal marketplace.

As the Dallas officer, Tass supports access to capital for entrepreneurs across North Texas. She works with strategic partners across the state to ensure that traditionally underserved small businesses have access to capital, education, and tools for success. Tass most recently managed the organization's women's business assistance center, connecting Dallas women to financial education opportunities. Previously, Tass led an expansion and training team for a Dallas-based technology company and served as PeopleFund’s education and training specialist, where she oversaw curriculums and mentorship programs. With a passion for social and economic justice and experience in program development, Tass equips entrepreneurs with the tools to succeed. With her support, PeopleFund clients create jobs, provide valuable community services, and gain national attention – including invitations to speak at the White House. Wanda Granier is CEO for BridgeWork Partners, a Hispanic owned and Minority certified company. She is in charge of the overall vision, strategy and success of the firm. She works continuously with the team to meet the deliverables for its client partners.  BridgeWork Partners has received numerous awards for their continued commitment to their mission which is to “take care of our clients, one partnership at a time.”  The firm specializes in both direct hire, staff augmentation, and human resources consulting services.

 

The company began its business journey on September 24, 2008 during Hispanic Heritage Month.  Under Wanda’s leadership, the company continues to grow each year both in sales and profit, with 2018 marking the milestone celebration of its 10th year anniversary.

 

During the summer, the Dallas Business Journal has recognized BridgeWork Partners as a top 2018 finalist for Best Places to Work in Dallas after receiving over 800 applications from businesses in the DFW area. Rankings will be announced in October of this year.  In addition, BridgeWork Partners is the recipient of the 2016, #1 Best Places to Work in Dallas and 2014 #2 Best Places to Work in Dallas.

 

In 2017, Wanda received Latina Entrepreneur of the Year by LATINAStyle Magazine, which focuses on women in leadership for 23+ years. In 2016, Wanda received the Hispanic Business Salute Award by Telemundo 39 and NBC5 for her business leadership and civic involvement in the North Texas community. In 2016, the Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce recognized Wanda with a Lifetime Achievement Award for her continued track record of driving results and reaching a number of landmarks for the organization. In 2014, Wanda received the Minority Business Leadership award by the Dallas Business Journal. She was amongst 22 awardees from the DFW area who exhibit a strong commitment and leadership to the prosperity of the minority business community.

 

Wanda is 2018 Chair for the Diversity & Inclusion Committee for VisitDallas, which yields over 87,000 jobs annually and $44 million dollars in tourism spend to promote the local economy.  At VisitDallas, Wanda also serves as a board member for the organization. In addition, she is a member of the M/WBE Advisory Committee for Dallas Independent School District. She is also a board member of Hispanic 100 where is a Co-Chair for the 2018 Latina Living Legend. Wanda also serves as an Advisory board member for BBVA Compass with international headquarters in Spain.

 

In addition, Wanda Granier also serves on the board of directors for the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas dedicating time to encourage girls to participate in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) through some of the programs offered by the Girl Scouts through the exciting launch of Camp Whispering Cedars in South Dallas.

 

She is passionate about the prosperity of the Latino community.  Wanda is the Past Chairman of the Board for the 79-year old Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce where she served as the 2014-2015 Chairman of the Board for the chamber which was recognized as the 2nd largest chamber of North Texas during her leadership. During her tenure, the Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, celebrated the milestone 75th year anniversary throughout the year which was a tremendous success and tribute to the many milestones the GDHCC has accomplished over the decades.  Furthermore, her leadership, the GDHCC also received a $1.9 million-dollar contract to help train small business owners. Under her leadership, the GDHCC was able to award over $3 million dollars in college scholarships to help open educational doors for students.  Today, Wanda currently serves as a board member for the GDHCC and continues to dedicate as much time as possible helping Hispanic owned businesses and the Hispanic community as a whole in the DFW area.

 

Wanda has participated in a number of panels, served as keynote speaker, and has been featured in interviews, and is always promoting the prosperity of the Latino community.

 

At BridgeWork Partners, Wanda is a champion for helping advocate for supplier diversity and is a leader of building the “Mentor Protégé” initiative for BridgeWork Partners to work with and strategically grow other qualified women and minority owned companies. To date, the firm has assisted a number of Latino and minority owned businesses through partnerships, advocacy, and overall financial engagements to promote prosperity for diversity and inclusion in the DFW area.

Dena is SPHR and SHRM – SCP certified and has 20+ years of experience in human resources. Her expertise includes services management, employee relations, executive leadership, and business effectiveness. Dena is especially knowledgeable of and experienced in learning and organizational development. She has created and facilitated learning programs that raise awareness, provide solutions, and transform a company’s or business unit’s effectiveness.   

She has been Vice President of Human Resources for companies up to 40,000 employees nationally and internationally. Dena has experience in the financial services, travel and hospitality, and oil and gas industries. She also has been a small business owner and business consultant helping new owners build infrastructure and launch effective programs while positively impacting ROI.

Today, Dena is Senior HR Consultant for BridgeWork Partners, which is recognized as the 2018 Best Places to Work by the Dallas Business Journal for building strong team cultures. 

Dena represents the firm’s human resources portfolio, BridgeWorkHR, which is an integral business entity for BridgeWork Partners. Dena is in charge of coaching and training the internal team on best-in-class human resources practices. She also consults with the firm’s clients leveraging her strong human resources leadership and execution strategies to add value and build long term partnerships.

Dena is an avid tennis player and a USTA, ITA and Big 12 tennis official. She is sought out by teams and team captains for her consistent and powerful game and also for her steadiness, fairness, and energy as a team player. As a tennis official, she calls matches from the chair and the line for area high schools and colleges. For the Big 12, she frequently assists TCU, OSU, OU, and Baylor to call matches and tournaments.

Dena is a graduate of Texas Christian University and has an MBA with HR concentration from the University of Dallas.

DENA BARTNICKI

Francisco de la Torre Galindo is the Consul General of Mexico in Dallas, Texas as of June 1st, 2016.

 

He previously served as the Executive Director of the Institute for Mexicans Abroad at Mexico’s Ministry of foreign Affairs, since June 1st, 2013 and has been a member of the Mexican Foreign Service since 1998.

 

He has served as Director of Legal Affairs at the Ministry’s Directorate General for the Foreign Service and also as Director for South America at the Under- Secretariat for Latin America and the Caribbean.

 

Mr. de la Torre holds a JD from Mexico´s National Autonomous University (UNAM), and represented Mexico at the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition organized by the International Law Students Association (ILSA) in Washington, D.C., and a Master’s Degree in Diplomatic Studies with a thesis on “Aspects of the Vote for Mexicans Abroad”.

 

He also received a diploma for mid-career diplomats in Jakarta where he was elected Valedictorian by the Foreign Ministry of Indonesia in 2009 and attended the seminar for diplomats in the Foreign Service Institute of Argentina where he graduated with outstanding qualification in 2010.

 

His diplomatic experience includes having been in charge of the Political and Economic Affairs, Cooperation and Protection for Mexican citizens abroad at the Mexican Embassies in Brazil and Argentina.

 

Throughout his career he has participated in seminars and related forums with international, diplomatic and consular issues in more than 25 cities in the United States, and Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Paraguay, Chile, Venezuela, Great Britain , Ireland, Indonesia and Singapore
